Government of India has taken various initiatives to transform India into a knowledge based society. Public libraries have a major role to play in realizing this goal. In order to revamp the Public Library System & Services, and to provide digital content based services to the citizens at large, the Ministry of Culture was launched the scheme of National Mission on Libraries (NML).
RRRLF was declared as the nodal agency for the National Mission on Libraries for administrative, logistic, planning and budgeting purposes.
