The Foundation, being the nodal agency of the Govt. of India and engaged in promotion
of Public Library movement and service all over the country, is operating schemes
to assist the Public Libraries in collaboration with respective state governments
and union territory administration. To operate its schemes, State Library Committee
(SLC) is constituted by the respective state governments and union territory administrations,
consisting of eminent educationists, library professionals and bureaucrats.
The Foundation organises State Library Conveners Conference once in every two years
to deliberate on the drawbacks of the existing schemes and obtain suggestions for
needbased new schemes for development of public library services in different corners.
It is the platform where the State Government's Officer in-Charge of Public Library
Services, conversant with the public response towards RRRLF Scheme provides the
feedback regarding implementation of these schemes.
The Foundation also organize National Seminar and Workshops in different parts of
the country so as to mobilize the awarness as well as to have an interaction with
the public. It also sponsors seminars, workshops in different parts of the country
organized by State Directorates, Library Associations etc., to interact with the
public in relation to public library development.
